Hi Bobcats : (8/4/02)
Summer is over for some and it's been
one for me to tell about! School was out mid May and a week later, I left for
California to visit Ronnie and Anna Crowe. We went to one of my favorite
places on Saturday, Santa Barbara. The beach is beautiful. Needless to
say, I love California and wore out my welcome!
Came home for a couple of weeks to stir up the dust around here. Then left
for the New Orleans Reunion on July 9th. Took my sweet time driving down
and we stopped and shopped along the way. A teaching friend of mine,
Connie, went with me. It rained and poured cats and dogs but we made the
trip safely. Had a wonderful time and met up with several that I had not
seen in thirty?? what? 38 years! Took pictures, enjoyed the
reunion, took more pictures, ate Gulf shrimp and oysters, and you will just have
to check out the website:

We all thoroughly enjoyed the reunion!
I came home for a few days and went to Hilton Head for four days to gather my
wits about starting back to school on August 1. Unlike the beautiful blue
and cold of the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic is warm. The morning walk on
the beach at sunrise was incredible! Now, I'm back in the swing of
school... kids will in on Wednesday! Sure is early!
At the New Orleans Reunion, I met up with several including Jay Mercer and Dawn,
Dee Moses Schwab ('65), Donna Mulholland ('67), Doug Lunsford, Robbie Wynens
Heintzman, and Cherie Michaelis Smith, and Kenn Raines ('67), and Kaye Meade
Williams. We all had our stories to tell but the best was the pair of
shoes that J had on at the dinner! Would you believe shoes from 1966 what?
Proof is in the pictures! Big discussion at the table, wouldn't you say,
Robbie?
It's
been great to hear from some of the classmates within the past few months.
Cheryl Habersang Rapelye wrote a note telling about her 34 years of being at
home! Lucky dog! Cheryl is living in Wilmington, N. C. She has been
in touch with Mouri Crovitz, Linda Williams Brown, and Diane Hutchins.
Hey, take a look at the new page set up for pictures of the past at
londoncentral.org! I think you'll find some of us on there. More to
come, of course, as soon as I scan some of the old slides!

Byron Donics is living in New York. I wrote him a note to ask him if he
remembered copying my Latin homework? I finally got that 36 year old big
"THANK YOU!" Don't tell Mr. Walsh! And of course, Byron pulled out
the A! Byron was President of one of the Estee Lauder companies and is now
on his own distributing French fragrances and cosmetics. Good luck, Byron,
with your new venture!
Ken Rains ('67) is in Terry, MS, not far from Jackson. He moved back home
after being in San Antonio for many a year! It's nice to be back in the
real "south" again, isn't it?
Donna Mulholland ('67) and Sharon Johnson (''76) are planning a big 2004 reunion
in San Diego, so EVERYONE keep that in mind. Donna is living in San Diego,
and is planning going back to school for her real estate license. She even
told me that there will soon be a House of Blues opening up in Atlanta that has
wonderful dinners. Will try it, Donna! Augusta is only about 90
minutes from Atlanata. Study hard, Donna!
And for those of you who know Mrs. Gail Kelly in London... I had a note about
the Golden Jubilee in good 'ole London town. Everyone enjoyed the
celebration. Let me know about the trip to Devon... did you all save some
Devon crème for me?
Sherry Bergman Kettering has had surgery this summer on her elbow and foot!
Hope everything is going well for you, Sherry!
I also noticed Steve Ehrlich's email was added to the list! So, where are
you, Steve?
Let me hear from you! And Bill Dickson, where are you?
Cheryl, send me Linda, Diane, and Mouri's email if they have one. Would
love to hear from them!
Let me hear from you all! School has begun in Georgia, but we'll be out
mid-May again, which sure is nice! Kaye Meade Williams is a teacher in
fourth grade, so she will be getting back to the drawing board as well! S ee you
all around Christmas time. In the meantime, stay safe, Bobcats, and send
news!!
