Hey Bobcats : (9/28/03) click on images to enlarge ...
It's been a while, and I
thought I would get this done before school started, but time slipped away back
in July and school began! I have kept a few notes, so here goes!
Back in the spring Jay Mercer found Linda Moats/Heibron, '66, and Scott
Byers, Class of '65. We all would like to hear from you out there!
Their email addresses are as follows:
Linda -
lheilbro@waldenu.edu
(Sounds like a teacher to me!)
Scott -
carolbyers89@msn.com
Linda is also on Classmates.com. You all write
when you can. We seem to find more classmates the harder we look!
I found out that Robbie Wynens/Heintzman has a friend here in Martinez, Ga.,
that is teaching in Columbia County, too. Small world out there! Of
course, this County only has thirteen elementary schools! Maybe someday I'll
bump into her. Thanks for letting me know, Robbie.
I received a note from Doug Lunsford back in January. Just wondering if you
finished that PhD yet? Teaching again this year, Doug? I think I
need to be in that class on Abnormal Psychology. I have a few of those
little critters in my fifth grade class!
I have
heard from Beverly Sheffield. She sent a picture of dear 'ole Isabel and
they weathered that storm. She said the neighbors generator was keeping
her awake at night and ear plug don't help evidently! Sure hope you all
are back in your home and with electricity by now. It's always good to
hear from you! Picture attached.
Back during the summer, Connie, one of my teaching friends, and I ventured to
Memphis to visit Graceland. We roamed Mud Island barefoot, took in
"Grease" and ended up out at the Aldridge's for dinner one evening. It was
great to meet Dave's wife, Chris. She fixed such a great meal for us.
Yes, we did get out those annuals and talk the evening away like it was
yesterday we were all in London! And of course, Schamus, the Springer
Spaniel, was the highlight of the evening, posing for the camera! A couple
of pictures are attached.
Now for Reunion News:
There is going to be a gathering on Las Vegas in 2004. Twila Pritchard Brand sent out an email to the classes of
'72-'81 and to the class reps. If you're interested, let me know and I'll
send her name or you may contact her directly: ma-brand@msn.com
Another reunion is in the making in San Antonio.
When I sent out the email back at the first of the summer, I only heard from one
or two. If you're interested let me know.
Ron Crowe has sent out an email for a Reunion in New Orleans in May, 2004.
The two dates is his email are:
Friday, May 14 - Sunday, May 16 OR
Friday, May 21 - Sunday, May 23
He's needing a decision on a date first. Several people from the Class of '64
suggested this reunion be opened up to 1964-1966 people since we were all so
close. They're calling it "The Bayou Bobcat Bash." Email Ron or me your
choice as soon as possible. I know it's early, but it does take some time
and organization to pull off a great reunion! We had a terrific time in
London. Check it out:

Other new email addresses are:
Hamish Osborne has a new email address - hsosborne@hotmail.com
Kathy Brown has a new email address -
HappyKat@carolina.rr.com
I was looking at the new website for London
Central. org. J Mercer and the crew of people who have worked on it have
done an incredible job. It really looks nice, J, and the pictures are much
clearer than before.
Keep in touch, Bobcats. I know the reunions seem like a long time off, but Christmas will be here before we know it. Will see you all around that time.
