Hi, Bobcat Classmates! December's News (12/17/01)
Here we are! Another year is coming to an end. I know there is much to do and little time. This season is always such a busy time for all.
Since school began, I have been kept quite busy. Moving to fifth grade has been a challenge. I've had to study the curriculum once again but I enjoy the academics much more than fourth grade. I have a great class and love teaching two classes of Language Arts. When the tragedy occurred on September 11th, we were studying a poem entitled "I Go Forth to Move the Earth." Both classes illustrated the poem with pictures of eagles, earth, and patriotic drawings that were just incredible. We ended up making a book of the poetry and illustrations to send to the White House. Right before Thanksgiving, the children received a letter from President George Bush. They were so excited! The enthusiasm generated from the kids makes teaching worth while.
Haven't heard much from anyone in the Class of '66. I know that Dave Aldridge ('65) and his family are in the process of moving to Memphis, Tennessee. Bill Smith ('66), became a Grandpa a couple of months ago. We really need to get busy and share the news with each other. I'm sure you all have something exciting to tell so, let me hear from you over the holidays.
I wish all Bobcats a safe and happy holiday season. Hope 2002 is filled with everything you want it to be.
